Online CE course for Extended Care Permit Providers
Changes in Kansas and Missouri now allow dental hygienists to
work independently as trained and certified "public health hygienists"
delivering "extended care public health settings" such as schools, nursing homes
and community clinics.
The UMKC School of Dentistry Division of Dental Hygiene, with financial support
from United Methodists Health Ministry Fund, now offers an on-line CE course,
entitled "Extended Care Permit Preparation: Dental Safety Net in Kansas &
Missouri", to enable dental hygienists to apply for certification to practice in
public health settings in Kansas with an "Extended Care Permit" or in Missouri
with the "Dental Hygiene Designation." You can complete the course's 12
learning modules at your own pace on your own computer during UMKC's 2007 Winter
semester.
